Prior to founding Stelmakh & Associates in 2008, Ms. Stelmakh managed business immigration practice of an international law firm with offices in Philadelphia, Moscow, and Kiev. While with the firm, Ms. Stelmakh counseled one of the world’s largest ferro-alloy and steel manufacturers on all international business personnel relocation matters and travel concerns. She also litigated international legal disputes and advised corporate clients on business transactions.  

Ms. Stelmakh also worked for the World Bank in Washington, DC, where she drafted loan and grant agreements with Russia and other CIS countries — including an $80 million loan for the Russian Hydromet Modernization Project. In addition, for the World Bank, she did research and drafting on matters of international armed conflict and refugee law and analyzed cases of the International Criminal CourtSouth-African Truth & Reconciliation Commission International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda and other courts.

Ms. Stelmakh received her J.D. and M.A. in Slavic Languages and Literatures degrees from nationally ranked top-tier The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law where Ms. Stelmakh also clerked in the litigation department of prominent Ohio firm Bailey Cavalieri LLC.

In her native Belarus, Ms. Stelmakh received Masters in International Law degree summa cum laude from the Belarusian State University. She also earned a Certificate in Transnational Law from the University of Geneva– Duke Law School in Switzerland.

Ms. Stelmakh is licensed in Ohio, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and is authorized to practice immigration law in any US state. She is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and Founder of Russian-Speaking Professionals Network (RSPN) non-profit organization.

Ms. Stelmakh is fluent in Russian, Belarusian, and English and has a working knowledge of German and Ukrainian.
